Adele denies throat cancer speculation

Adele has hit back at rumours that she is suffering from throat cancer.
The 23-year-old 'Someone Like You' singer, who recently cancelled all performances for the rest of the year and announced plans to have throat surgery, was rumoured to have been diagnosed with a serious disease but her representative has insisted that the speculation is "false".
"We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal cord," her spokesperson told Us Weekly. "All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false."
A statement on Adele's website a few days ago read: "It is with deep regret that Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining live dates and promotional appearances in 2011."
It explained that "a full recovery is expected" after the medical procedure, adding that the star will have to "rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments". 
Adele was previously forced to cancel her tour of the US arranged for this month after doctors told her she needed more time to recover from illness. She had been scheduled to play dates in New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Texas across October.

Rihanna hospitalised in Sweden with flu symptoms

Rihanna has been admitted to a Swedish hospital with "the flu". 
The 'We Found Love' singer was forced to cancel a concert in Malmö on Monday night after seeking medical treatment for her illness. 
Rihanna tweeted a photo of herself hooked up to an IV drip in the hospital along with an apology, saying: "Sorry, Malmo!!!" 
In a longer statement, she explained: "I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo, Switzerland. I was so excited to perform for you all."
"It would have been a great time… so much better than being sick with the flu, ugh! I'm really disappointed I couldn't be there."
Meanwhile, a spokesman for concert promotions company LiveNation told TMZ that Rihanna is "in no condition to conduct the concert".

“It’s true I’m going to be a mummy!” she Tweeted Monday, posting a photo of herself dressed up as such for Halloween and cradling her baby bump.

This will be the first child for Simpson, who has previously expressed her desire to have fiancé Eric Johnson‘s babies.

“I definitely see myself having a family with him, so that’s exciting to think about,” Simpson said shortly after her beau, a former NFL athlete, popped the question last November.

Ellen DeGeneres to open vegan restaurant

Ellen DeGeneres is opening a vegan restaurant in San Fernando Valley, California.

The chat show host and her wife Portia de Rossi have joined The Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde and film producer Steve Bing in investing in the eatery.

The menu will be created by celebrity chef Tal Ronnen who prepared Ellen and Portia’s wedding menu and the restaurant’s interior design will be designed by Waldo Fernandez, who has decorated homes for stars including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie andTobey Maguire. The name of the restaurant has yet to be revealed.

Earlier this year Ellen also launched a diet advice webpage, Going Vegan with Ellen, with recipes and resources to help users adopt an animal free diet.

Ellen is also juggling her new restaurant plans with the latest series of her self-titled TV show, which she says she continues to work on in the hope of making people “feel good” about themselves and others.

“I think we’ll get a new audience that maybe didn’t watch me because they only watched ‘Oprah’, and they have a void now. But it’s the same goal whether we have 10 people or 10 million people watching. If we adjust in any way, it’s so we can top ourselves,” she added.

On the message she hopes to promote with his show she added, “The world is filled with negativity. I want people to watch me and think, ‘I feel good, and I’m going to make somebody else feel good today.’”

Drew Barrymore: cops called to her party

Police were called to Drew Barrymore‘s Halloween party after complaints from neighbors.

The Charlie’s Angels star threw a huge bash at her Hollywood Hills home over the weekend to mark the spooky holiday today but those living nearby were unimpressed with the noise levels and made a complaint to the authorities.

After having a word with the cops, Drew agreed to keep the noise down and no further action was taken, gossip websiteTMZ reports.

Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries SPLIT

Kim Kardashian‘s marriage lasted just 72 days.

According to reports from Us Weekly and People magazine, the reality TV star is planning to file for divorce from her husband Kris Humphries.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians producer Ryan Seacrest confirmed a divorce is imminent.

“Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins (sic),” he wrote on Twitter.

Kim who attended a Halloween party in New York over the weekend but did not bring Kris along  has reportedly hired divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has previously represented Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie and Ryan Reynolds and will cite “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce papers.

Sources close to the pair told websiteTMZ that their arguments over where to live were responsible for the breakdown of the union, with Kris wanting to live in Minnesota while Kim didn’t want to leave Los Angeles.

The date of separation is reportedly Oct. 31, 2011.

“She wanted the fairy tale and she got caught up in it all,” says a source close to Kardashian. “She felt like the pressure of the TV show just isn’t what they could have handled.”

“They’re not getting along at all,” another insider said. “Kris is not drinking the Kardashian Kool-Aid, and it’s causing major problems.

“On some levels, she feels like she made a mistake.”

Kim has previously revealed her marriage to 26-year-old Kris wasn’t ideal because of the publicity surrounding their union and said they were finding it hard to get some alone time.

“It’s not been ideal because you’re newlyweds and you want privacy.”

Kim and Kris tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony in front of 440 guests in Montecito, California with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney as matron and maid of honor, and her nephew, 23-month old Mason, as ring bearer.

In a new interview with France’s Star Club Magazine, the Twilight star insists the media misinterprets her quiet demeanor for rudeness.

“I’m sometimes told I am a very distant and cold person,” she says. “In real life, I’m very shy. I feel uncomfortable during interviews because I need to talk about myself. But to talk about yourself, you have to know who you are.

“When it comes to that, I think there are still a lot of things I need to discover about myself.”

Kristen recently admitted she was a studious school student.

“It’s funny. I picked an old backpack out of the closet the other day, one I used to wear all the time as a teenager,” she said. “It’s covered with anarchy signs, all these quotes and these metal studs. I was like, ‘Woah, you must have really liked how that looked.’

“Despite what people think, I was such a rule follower at school. I loved the whole slacker look, like, ‘Hey, I don’t care or whatever,’ but if I didn’t turn my homework in, I would panic.”

Kim Kardashian parties without Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian has been going it alone.

The socialite and reality star attended several parties in New York over the weekend but, according to reports, Kim was there without her new husband Kris Humphries.

New York Post gossip column Page Sixreports that on Saturday night, Humphries did a disappearing act as Kim who was dressed as Poison Ivy in a green bustier outfit and red wig hosted a Midori party at Lavo in Midtown.

“Kris was supposed to there but flew home to see his family in Minnesota instead,” a source said.

Yesterday Kim flew to Australia, but her original flight was canceled, so she had to drive late Saturday night after the party to Philadelphia to get a flight out from there.

We recently reported how Kim was unhappy in her marriage to Kris.

Lady Gaga plans children orphanage

Lady Gaga wants to set up a children’s foundation in India.

The You and I hitmaker is in New Delhi for a private gig but has been taking time out between engagements to visit youth charities and hopes to use her celebrity status to set up her own charitable organization in the future.

“Gaga would one day like to set up a foundation in her name to help children and now her career has really taken off, she feels as if it’s the right time to do something,” a source said.

“She isn’t the type of celebrity who just throws cash at things though. She wants to research it properly and do something huge.

“She knows it will be a massive amount of work but she wants to start by getting involved in some orphanages that already exist and devote some of her time and money to helping them.”

This isn’t Gaga’s first foray into charitable work, in March she raised $250,000 for earthquake victims in Japan by designing a wristband.

The Born This Way singer urged her Twitter followers to buy the $5 red and white accessory which reads “We pray for Japan” in both English and Japanese before telling her fans, whom she refers to as her ‘Monsters’, that they have already accumulated the large sum.

She tweeted, “Monsters: in just 48 hrs you’ve raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief. It’s important we help. X (sic)”

Brad Pitt quits smoking for kids ‎

Brad Pitt has quit smoking after being caught out by two of his children.

The Moneyball star has reportedly been guilt-tripped into giving up the habit after he was spotted by daughters Zahara, six, and five-year-old Shiloh having a quick cigarette at the bottom of his garden in his rented home in Budapest.

“They followed him outside and caught him puffing away. They couldn’t believe it as he’s always said smoking’s bad for you,” a source said.

Brad who also raises Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with partner Angelina Jolie has been undergoing hypnotherapy sessions and taking nicotine lollipops and mints to try to fight the craving.

The actor recently admitted he always puts his children and family life first. Even though his kids can be “unruly” at times.

“We’re a normal family, a mother and father, and the kids get unruly! The kids are fantastic and say the funniest things I’ve ever heard,” he said.

“But the most important thing for us is to make sure we carve out time for them, that we get group time and one on one time because it’s our responsibility to show them around and help shape them. So I guess the only thing I can say is that it’s fatherhood first, family first, and then I slip in the work.”

Johnny Depp Laughed in the Face of Death

Johnny Depp burst into hysterical laughter when the private jet he was on nearly crashed.

The Rum Diary actor was en route to Los Angeles on a Gulfstream plane with director Bruce Robinson when the engines cut out and the pair surprised themselves with their reactions.

“The plane just shut down. The sound of the engines stopped. There was silence. Bruce and I were looking at each other and I think I said, ‘Is this it?’ It was like this weird extended moment when you’re just floating for a second and you could feel this unpleasant descent,” Johnny said.

“Nobody said a word except for Bruce and I, sitting next to each other saying, ‘Oh s**t! This is death; I guess this is how it goes down.’“Then we burst into hysterical laughter at the idea that this was how we were going to die.”

However, to the relief of the pair the engines quickly started back up again but Johnny credits the near death experience with helping the pair to bond.

“Suddenly the engines started back up again and we were climbing back up. I guess you could say that was a big bonding experience for Bruce and me. For a moment there, we were going down together,” he said.

The Scottish Machine Gun Preacher star who is now teetotal was a troublemaker in his early twenties and claims the challenges of acting helped him to grow up after he was fired from his law training scheme thanks to his hellraising.

“I’d gone from a 16 year old who couldn’t wait to grasp life to a 22 year old who didn’t care if he died in his sleep,” he said.

“I know what it’s like to feel crazy, lost, aggressive, fearful and to be screaming out at the world that you have no use or no purpose and the best thing to do is to go down screaming and take as many people with you as possible and get really f***ed up along the way.

“If I hadn’t found acting, it seems very easy to say that I’d be dead but yes I’d be dead. But to find that I could act, make a living out of it and challenge myself, tell stories, affect people. And to think that I can now have that impact on people is a beautiful thing.”

Although he loves acting, Gerard, 42, admitted he is looking forward to the day when he has more in his life than just work.

Heidi Montag is writing an autobiography.

The onetime Hills star who recently announced she and her husbandSpencer Pratt are broke is set to pen her memoirs and reveal shocking details about her marriage to her former co-star and why her friendship with Lauren Conrad fell apart.

“She’ll talk about the control that Spencer exerted over her, which forced her to make bad decisions that ultimately got her kicked off The Hills,” a source said.

“A big chunk of the book will be about how Heidi befriended Lauren and how devastated she was when she ended up dumping her as her BFF. Maybe something positive will come out of it

“She’s happy to have people read the full story and make up their own minds.”

Heidi is also set to spill the beans on her dramatic plastic surgery which saw her transform her looks with 10 operations in one day.

Madonna to play concert in London?

Madonna is to play a huge concert in London next year to coincide with the 2012 Olympics.

The 53-year-old singer will perform to 60,000 fans in Hyde Park next July when the UK capital will host the prestigious sporting event.

“Madonna is planning a huge comeback and was determined to do it at Hyde Park while the Olympics are on,” a source said.

“She’s been out of the limelight musically for a while but is ready to jump back into the saddle and thinks there’s no better time to do it than when London hosts the Olympics.”

Earlier this week, it was also revealed Madonna is to perform at next February’s Super Bowl, where she will headline the annual NFL match after beating off competition from Lady Gaga.

“When Madonna heard Gaga was in the frame, she knew she had to step up her efforts. She is going to deliver the kind of show never seen before in NFL history,” a source said.

Brad Pitt bans kids' computers

Brad Pitt hid his children’s computers because he thinks they spend too much time playing video games.

The Moneyball actor who raises Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with partner Angelina Jolie is reportedly sick of his kids’ obsession with technology and wants them to spend more time playing together.

“The kids have five laptop computers that they share. Brad took them and hid them in storage,” a source said.

“He wants them playing in the dirt, reading books and interacting with each other.

“Brad believes their minds are turning to mush from staring at the screens all day.”

However, Brad’s war on computers was not well received in the Jolie-Pitt household with Maddox and Shiloh reportedly the most upset.

“The boys are into the video game Forza Motorsport 4 and the girls love Just Dance 3,” said the source.

“Everyone especially Maddox and Shiloh threw a hissy fit after Brad pulled the plug on their online fun.”

The 25-year-old actor and the 21-year-old actress’ characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan tie the knot in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1and Robert has revealed the director used a real priest for the on screen ceremony which means they’re husband and wife in the eye’s of God.

“The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest. So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married,” he said.

Robert also revealed both her and Kristen felt “vulnerable” when they were shooting the film’s sex scenes because they were so many different people on set, most of whom seemed as nervous as the performers.

“The sex scenes were difficult,” he said. “The set was crazy and you have about 20 people in the room and someone saying things like, ‘No, Bella would not have made that noise. Can we do it again?’

“It was very charged, but a very tender and sentimental scene. It’s not a scene from the book, so everyone was nervous about doing it right.

“A ton of other people were nervous. And, Kristen and I were both worried about the shape of our bodies would look on camera. We felt vulnerable.”

Johnny Depp recalls drinking days of torment

Johnny Depp turned to alcohol because he hated being a teen idol.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star admitted he used to be so uncomfortable with fame after his profile skyrocketed following his role in TV show 21 Jump Street that he “drank his guts out” every night in order to cope with it.

“If the choice is to be gawked at constantly or to sit in a dark room, I’d choose the dark room.
“I felt as if I had been turned into a novelty and it was mortifying,” he said.

“When I was in a social situation, I was nervous and uncomfortable. The only way I could get through it was to drink my guts out. I wasted a lot of years.”

While Johnny eventually cleaned up his act after meeting Vanessa Paradis with whom he has two children, Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack, nine he admits having a few glasses of wine with his partner of almost 14 years is his idea of a perfect evening.

“A glass or two of wine before dinner is my favorite thing, watching the sunset and the kiddies playing nearby. It’s perfection,” he added.

Jane Fonda has urged older women to “stay flexible” in order to have sex.

The 73-year-old actress knows not everyone is interested in making love as they get older but believes it is important to stay healthy and active.

“You have to want sex, and many people don’t. That’s just fine,” she said.

“You don’t have to want sex when you’re older, but if you want sex, you have to stay flexible, and you have to stay healthy, and you have to feel OK about yourself.”

Evan Rachel Wood 'I didn't want to fizzle out'

Evan Rachel Wood doesn’t want to be the “biggest star in the world”.

The Ides of March actress began her career when she was just four years old but she doesn’t want to follow the same career path of other former child stars and would rather have a long, successful career than achieve short-term goals.

“I witnessed a lot of actors my age, their parents making them do everything and do it all now while they can,” she said.

“But I always thought, I’m young, I have time, I don’t want to be overexposed and fizzle out, I want to keep this going as long as possible. You have people going, ‘Do this, you’ll be the biggest star in the world’, but the last thing I want is to be the biggest star in the world.”

Evan feels lucky because her parents who work in the acting industry never put pressure on her to make particular career choices.

“My parents were cool and since they were film geeks and love movies, I was never pressured to do big money jobs or big studio films,” she added.

“They let me choose whatever I wanted to do and I have been very picky. It’s hard for me to do something I don’t care about.”

The Hold It Against Me hitmaker who has hit the country on the latest leg of her Femme Fatale tour asked for a picture of the late royal, who died in 1997, in addition to portions of fish and chips and 100 figs and prunes.

Madonna is pulling out all the stops for her next single.

According to MadonnaTribe, the singer has recruited both MIA and Nick Minajto appear on her new track. The three could even perform it at the Super Bowl.

Sources say that nine tracks off Madge’s new album are already complete, and that the first single starring MIA and Minaj has already been chosen.

The album will be released in spring of 2012 and will have a “pop dance” vibe. It is being produced by William Orbit, who worked with Madonna on Ray of Light, along with French DJ Martin Solveig and Italian house music afficionado Benny Banassi.
